We launched in 2000 as the private investment house for the two largest pension plans in Europe. Today, we apply our investment-first culture on behalf of our more than 500 investors globally.
Significant events
Today: With over $66 billion of assets under management and more than 500 investors, AlpInvest is one of the largest private equity investors globally.
2016–2017: AlpInvest raises a $6.5 billion secondaries program and a $3 billion co-investment program.
2011–2015: AlpInvest starts expanding its investor base and raises capital from leading pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and financial institutions globally.
2011: The Carlyle Group acquires AlpInvest Partners.
2000–2010: AlpInvest is 100% focused on investing and successfully deploys more than $40 billion in the private equity asset class for Dutch pension investors APG and PGGM. The firm builds its global reputation as a powerful investment engine.
